Innovative coated high-performance circular saw blades with replaceable interface for cutting softwood

The DuroCut project is developing an innovative high-performance circular saw blade for cutting softwood. The project is based on the development of an innovative tooth shape, the development of a customized coating for the saw teeth and the development of an interface between the saw teeth and the saw blade base body for the efficient replacement of the saw teeth. The interface acts as a pioneer for the project and offers several advantages. Firstly, saw teeth can be provided with a more powerful and innovative tooth shape and sent back to the tool manufacturer for grinding after use. Secondly, the removed saw teeth can be re-coated so that they regain their original performance parameters. The project promises a significant improvement in the target parameters of electrical power consumption, cutting forces, surface quality and tool life. As a result, new efficiency potentials in wood machining can be tapped and the competitiveness of the companies involved will be sustainably strengthened through the sale of the product.
